A low pressure area likely to form over South Bay of Bengal. This is likely to move towards North Coastal Tamil Nadu and intensify further in next 48 hours. Due to this system, heavy rain to begin with 48 hours over North Coastal and North Interior Tamil Nadu.

Gaja cyclone which has weakened to Depression has moved into SE Arabian Sea and intensified into a Deep Depression, this will intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over the same area with different name and move westward away from Indian Coast.

Due to this Arabian Sea system’s pull effect, moderate intensity rain likely at few places over West Tamil Nadu & South Interior parts of the state. Light rain likely at few places over North Coastal and North Interior Tamil Nadu during next 24 hours.
